About Me
Thanks for stopping by!I'm Rowena, a book editor in northern Indiana. I've been freelancing since 2021, and have provided editorial services for hybrid-publishing clients, as well as indie-publishing and self-publishing clients. Over the past several years, I have received grant funding for independent research projects and have published work in several magazines. My experience as an editor, author, and researcher has given me perspective from multiple angles of publishing. I'm also a member of the Editorial Freelancers Association, and stay up-to-date in the always-changing publishing landscape through classes and continuing-education opportunities.What's it like to work with me?I'm a creative and compassionate person who understands the connection that authors have with their work. I specialize in developmental and line editing. Depending on the project, I also offer beta reading, manuscript assessments, research assistance, and some light copyediting.Not sure what type of editing service you need? Feel free to contact me anyway! If we discover that you need something I don't offer, I always have no-pressure referrals available.Pricing:
I price by project, at a per-word rate. Because each project is different, I customize my quotes and offer a flexible tier-pricing system so that you can choose the best option for you. You should only have to pay for exactly what you need!That being said, my rates typically fall between $0.01-$0.04 USD per word. A simple fiction manuscript assessment is very, very different from a heavy developmental edit of a large non-fiction project, and my rates reflect those differences, accordingly.
